Treating Pediatric Concussion

David Salsberg, PsyD, clinical instructor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, speaks about the timeframe of getting children back to the classroom after recovering from a concussion, noting that a return to school depends on age/grade and time of year. He also speaks about the importance of cognitive rest for those recovering from the injury -- meaning that video games are off limits to children home from school to heal after a concussion.

"There's no one formula and no one type of person that's concussed. We definitely need a multidisciplinary and individualized approach," Dr. Salsberg notes.
